CROISSANTS (new size)

0.75

No introduction is needed to this much loved traditional French breakfast pastry. It is made with a slow fermented dough giving maximum taste to the buttery flaky pastry. This is a handmade product and slightly smaller and less airy than those ones generally seen.

There are two methods you can use to bake the croissants:

For best results set the oven to 160˚- 170˚C, take the croissants out of the freezer and place them on a parchment lined baking tray leaving a couple of centimeters between each one. Let the croissants sit at room temperature until the oven has heated and then bake for 30 -35 minutes, turning the tray halfway through baking to ensure an even bake with a golden brown finish. Cool on a pastry cooling rack. If you forget to put the croissants in the oven immediately it reaches temperature do not worry, they will be fine sitting at room temperature for up to one hour before baking.

The pastries can also be baked directly from the freezer in a pre heated oven at 160˚C. For this method allow 35 minutes baking time.

The temperatures given are for a fan oven. A good rule of thumb is to add 20˚C for a conventional oven. I strongly suggest using an oven thermometer to ensure the correct baking temperature, especially if using an older oven. The pastries are not suitable for microwave ovens
